Vietnam: 5~The Reunification Palace

Known after 1975 as the Reunification Palace (or Hall), before then it was the Independence Palace. It was rebuilt in the 1960s and the exterior definitely gives you that vibe.

A corridor near the entrance. Love the symmetry!

The Conference Hall

The Banquet Chamber

One of the fabulous lacquer (I guess) artworks around the palace

The Reception Room

Dragon rug

A small garden space somewhere in the palace interior

A tunnel underneath the palace

One of the war rooms underneath the palace

Segment of a map showing the general area where dad was based (not far from Ba Ria)

Wonder what this kind of room would look like today?

Fountain on the front lawn with main gates beyond

A photo of a framed photograph inside the Palace showing the North Vietnamese Army tanks breaking through the gates in 1975. The war ended soon after.
